Nice modern hotel with its entrance right at the entrance of the city's pedestrian zone with shops and idyllic street restaurants within only a couple of minutes' walk. We were offered to park our motorcycles in the hotel's back yard at no extra cost by the friendly clerk.

The hotel is in centrum. Nice service from the personnel. The swimming pool is good even though it is not big. Remember to ask the personnel for the parking coin when you pick up your car, otherwise it will cost 15 Eur/day.
The blanket is very hot.

The building is absolutely stunning, leaving you in awe. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient. The location is perfect, especially if you're arriving by train, with the main train station just a short walk away. The hotel is centrally located, surrounded by restaurants and shops. The parking facility is convenient, allowing easy access to your car. The breakfast is delightful, and the spa area is small but charming. The hotel's restaurant is worth a visit, with attentive and pleasant staff. The wellness area is beautiful and well-maintained, with a fantastic fitness area and swimming pool. The overall location of the hotel is ideal for shopping and exploring the city. We can't wait to visit again!

Comfortable beds; one wing of the hotel was a historic tower in the town wall.
The pool and spa area was stuck in the 1980s and needs refurbishing badly. The room was large, but had rather clinical, bleak decoration. There were no free toiletries or other complimentary items which I would expect in a four star hotel - it felt like an upmarket Travelodge.

Our room was nicely furnished, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was very stylish. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced for the quality of food. It's extremely convenient for the train station and it has its own multistorey car park.
There were two main issues: the room was terribly noisy, as it looked out on the town but the windows afforded no noise protection ( I had to sleep in earplugs!). There was also no blind on the (attractive) top window, meaning the room was very light. Breakfast was really rather expensive, so we didn't have it. Opposite the hotel is a bistro, called 'Papillon' which serves a good range of German breakfasts, with endless tea or coffee, at a fraction of the hotel price. Similarly, there are a range of cafes in town.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and service-minded, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The location was perfect, as we were able to explore the historic center of the city on foot. Additionally, the hotel was conveniently located near the train station, making it easy for us to travel to other towns in the area. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, and the comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep. We also enjoyed the included spa facilities, such as the pool and sauna, which added to our overall relaxation experience.
Nothing, all excellent.

Can't really judge this because we only stayed one night.
Considering the price per room is not inclusive of breakfast, there were no complementary tea or coffee making facilities in the room, which are usually provided as standard in four star hotels. Bathrobes and slippers were also lacking, which I have always received in other four star hotels. This is not a huge criticism, but something to think about.

Great location, right next to the train station and within walking distance to the center. Loved the fact that there was a free pool and spa area, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The friendly and helpful staff made our stay even more enjoyable.
The only minor inconvenience was the outdated key system where we had to hand in our keys upon leaving and collect them again upon returning. It would have been more convenient to have a drop box for keys, especially when the reception area was busy.

No Internet connection in room !!! Impossible to call 800 N. ,or calling cards numbers - very frustrating to tourists! No help from staff . Either they do not know and are not helpful or their supervisor was very RUDE to us ! Only about 4TV FREE channels the rest are PAY TV !!! Breakfast which was included last year costs 13 EUROS !!! We stayed in 3 other hotels in Germany during this visit and all were great ,even though not as fancy...so we could have compared. Sorry and thanks

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The decoration throughout the hotel was tasteful, with beautiful antique furniture and elegant touches. The grand marble hall was particularly impressive, evoking a sense of history and grandeur. It was a delight to wander through the hotel's general areas and admire the attention to detail in the décor.
If I were to suggest one improvement, it would be to provide better assistance for senior vacationers. While the majority of the staff were helpful, there were a few instances where I found them lacking in understanding or patience.

Fantastic Spa and sauna facilities. Swimming pool was also nice to relax in. Food in the restaurant was First Class and well recommended. Location is excellent, close to town centre, train station and 5 mins to Harz Mountains
Room was okay but did not have tea/coffee facility. Basic room was booked, recommend paying slightly more for a design room

Stayed at Der Achtermann, a hotel with a great location, just a 1-minute walk from the city center. The hotel staff were friendly, hardworking, and always had a smile. The room was large and sunny, with a lovely view of a church and park. The hotel had a clean and cozy atmosphere, with a small patio to relax. One of the best things about the hotel was its convenient parking, right next to a multi-story car park. The breakfast offered enough choices to keep you satisfied for the day, and the food was quickly replenished. a great experience.
Nothing at all.

Clean, good value for the money. Pool and sauna an added bonus.
Room overlooked loading area, so very noisy in the morning. Since the hotel mainly targets business travelers, they would be up by 7am, so probably not an issue.

I chose this hotel for a session and was impressed with its conference center, which offers 13 separate meeting rooms of varying sizes. The facilities were sufficiently equipped and provided an ideal setting for my work needs.
The only service I missed was the option for a later check-out time. It would have been helpful to have the flexibility to extend my stay for a few extra hours to accommodate my work requirements.
